New Properties Being Built With disabled stair Lifts pt 2

Following on from our post a few weeks ago about new properties being built with disabled lifts we have heard a rumor about some large property development firms actually creating a percentage of their houses with stairlifts pre installed. We can’t reveal the exact companies at this point but we have been told that the estimated number of disabled adults in the UK is about 10 million which means almost 15% of the UK people have some form of disability and property developers are simply trying to capture this market.

It’s a very good way of capturing this percent of the market as detailed in the last post:  “Public buildings such as government buildings, library and schools have to ensure that disability access is implemented. Regulations are coved in part M of the Building Regulations and also in the Disability Discrimination Act that was introduced in 1996.”

So the larger property developers are trying to ensure they can offer home for all ready to move into. I can’t see this spreading to small property developers or the rent market but i think it’s a good step to help people. In the past there have been specific property developers who create ground floor flats or similar bungalows to attract this type of home seeker.
