In a move to help local residents to live in new quality and affordable homes in their hometown, housing provider Two Castles Housing Association and developer McInerney Homes have come together.
The two organisations are working on proposals for 25 sustainable, highly energy efficient, code level 3 homes to develop in Norham. To confirm that the proposals are according to the needs of the local residents, they had planned an open day on February 12 from 2-7pm, in the Norham Village Hall. The local community was provided with details on the partnership and information on the proposed new housing development in their village.
The draft for the affordable housing development initially consist a combination of 2 bedroom bungalows as well as, 2 and 3 bedroom family homes, which will be available for rent through Two Castles Housing Association.
The open house event was held by the two organisations with the aim of establishing the housing demand in the area and identifying the different types of property required.
The housing development proposals have the strong support of the parish council, who have welcomed the proposal and believe it will have a positive impact on local services and community. With the severe problems in economy and housing, things like these are always welcome.
